About
In 2026, Currents of Musical Heritage will mark the final concert of Conductor KUO Che-Cheng as Resident Conductor of the Kaohsiung Chinese Orchestra. Since joining the orchestra in 1984, he has devoted more than four decades to its growth, guiding its journey from deep local roots to the international stage, while witnessing Taiwanese Chinese music evolve from tradition into contemporary expression. Joined by outstanding soloists from the orchestra, Kuo will lead the ensemble in performing representative works of Taiwanese Chinese music from the past four decades, bringing familiar melodies back to life and awakening memories of an era. Currents of Musical Heritage is not only a musical journey through time, but also a heartfelt farewell from Kuo Che-Cheng to the stage. This time, let us listen together—to the musical memories of a city.
