About
Hungarian composer Sándor Veress, a prized pupil of 20th-century icon Béla Bartók, inherited his master’s passion for folk music and devoted his life to music education in Switzerland, mentoring legends like György Ligeti. This year, the Academy of Taiwan Strings once again presents "Passing the Torch" as the theme of its String Classics concert series. In collaboration with concert host LEE I-Pin, conductor Ming Han Ryan CHEN, and the Happy Bear String Orchestra of Kaohsiung Municipal Shinshang Primary School, the ATS will bring these young musicians onto the stage, carrying forward the spirit of musical dedication and conviction. Join us this December, and together let us pass on the torch of this enduring spirit.
