About
Some sounds are not meant to astonish the world, but to gently touch the heart. A moment is the flowing light along the Love River at night; a moment is the quiet stir of emotion emerging from a love song. It is the vastness of sky and sea along the northern coast, and the traces of a life that continually transforms, moves forward, and echoes through time. 《Whispers of Strings, Fleeting Moments : A Narrative of Sizhu Music》 takes time and the flow of sound as its central themes, featuring seven contemporary works for Chinese instruments. Moving through city nights, love and emotion, landscapes of mountains and sea, Eastern humanism, and the vitality of life, the concert unfolds seven fluid soundscapes through the rich and delicate colors of traditional Chinese instruments. From SUN Pei-Li's Light · River · Night, capturing the shimmering lights of Kaohsiung's Love River, and CHANG Yung-Chin's Love Song, with its tender pulse of emotion, to REN Zhong's Bei Hai Ruo, evoking the vastness of sea and sky, and CHENG Kuang-Chih's Naomi Variations, tracing the turning points of life; from LI Po-Chan's De Yin, imbued with an Eastern spirit, and LIU Chang's Riding the Wind and Breaking the Waves, filled with the energy of life, to WANG Yun-Ya's Resonance, where the journey finally settles into a lingering echo. Seven works, seven landscapes. Through the flowing voices of silk and bamboo, we hear the city, the mountains and sea, the passage of time, and the rhythm of life—while gathering a beautiful moment to call our own.
