Puccini's La Bohème

Set in the Bohemian Latin Quarter of 1830s Paris, La Bohème portrays a group of young artists striving to survive on minimal resources other than friendship, imagination, and hope. When poet Rodolfo encounters the delicate seamstress Mimì on a cold winter night, an immediate and fragile romance ensues. Their love flourishes amidst the vibrancy of Parisian streets, cafes, and festivities, but is soon challenged by poverty, jealousy, and Mimì’s deteriorating health. As relationships evolve and tensions rise among the bohemians, moments of joy and sorrow intermingle. Eventually, the group is compelled to confront the consequences of their actions.
