About
In the last Chamber Music Matinee under the motto 'Beethoven? ... of course!', we encounter the young composer. The String Trio in D-Major was published by Beethoven when he was 18 and wrote in the dedication that it was 'the best of his works'. It is certain that he already tried to break the entertaining framework in which chamber music moved at that time. Younger still was he when composing the Trio for Piano, Flute and Oboe (or Cello), which was heavily inspired by Mozart. Between the two works stand the 'Spring Hormones' of the Liechtenstein Composer and Organist Marco Schädler, who once explained the original title with laconic charm: 'I felt spring, that was my idea for the music'.
