Cristian Măcelaru loves contemporary works as well as the classical repertoire. He stated once, 'I do everything egoistically that I like'. This time he presents a work of our Creative Chair Dieter Ammann - Brahms' Symphony No. 3. In between there is Chatschaturjans Violin Concerto, which Julia Fischer once called 'one of the most exciting works of the 20th century'. The concert combines the late-romantic tonal language with elements of Armenian folk music – and expands the stylistic spectrum even further in another direction.
