About
Both Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, along with his sister Fanny, undertook long journeys through Switzerland in their youth, climbing several mountains. These journeys influenced all three – this is particularly evident in their songs, which the violinist Isabel Neligan has adapted for piano quartet. The remaining works in the program were not directly created after these journeys; however, the romantic fascination with nature can also be felt in them.
