Rudolf Buchbinder mit Beethoven

What a marathon! In two concerts, Rudolf Buchbinder plays Beethoven's five piano concertos and conducts the orchestra from the piano. Buchbinder can certainly be called one of Beethoven's most loyal fans: He has performed each of these concertos hundreds of times, recorded them three times – but even when he knows them by heart, he still finds new details in the numerous historical editions of his collection. On the second evening, the first and last concerto are on the program – two works whose premieres are only eight years apart and yet have made a wide stylistic journey between them.
