About
Dieter Ammann's Concert Satz for Violin and Chamber Orchestra is titled 'unbalanced instability', a work that demands a great deal of balance and stability from the performers to bring out its character. The solo part is taken by Carolin Widmann, who has long been engaged with contemporary compositions. For his debut, Finnish conductor Hannu Linttu directs two very different orchestra works: Stravinsky's 'Symphonie d'instruments à vent', one of the most original compositions for wind instruments, and Sibelius' Symphony No. 7 celebrates as the crowning finale of his symphonic work the 'Joy of Life and Vitality, with Appassionato-Passages' – as formulated by the composer himself.
