About
This concert offers a premiere, a secondiere – and two well-known works. Lukas Sternath, a student of Igor Levit and praised by the press as 'a great hope of the international pianist scene', plays Schumann's Piano Concerto for the first time with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich. Additionally, Tugan Sokhiev, who was quickly invited back after his successful debut two years ago, conducts Berlioz' 'Sinfonie fantastique': a work that lives off an earworm-worthy 'fixed idea' and an exceptionally rich palette of sound colors.
