About
As a pianist and organist, our focus artist Wayne Marshall has already introduced himself to the Zurich audience, now he presents himself for the first time as (leading from the instrument) Conductor. In this role, he loves the works of Bernstein and Gershwin, which he combines in this New Year's program with pieces and arrangements by Duke Ellington and a piece by the jazz-affine Brit Iain Farrington. According to Wayne Marshall, this music should sound free, rhythmically exciting, almost like improvisation. Therefore, during rehearsals, he gave musicians*innen a tip: 'Read it if you feel it!'
