Orchestra Lunch Concert with Jan Willem de Vriend

Georg Friedrich Händel was a master of original reuse: This is evident in his Concerto a due cori HWV 333. The musical material comes to a considerable extent from his Oratorios – but Handel engaged here no voices, but numerous wind instruments from Military Bands. They formed two Wind Choirs, which allowed for dialogue with each other and with the Orchestra for new sound effects. The Early Music Specialist Jan Willem De Vriend will not only ensure a scenic effect in this work, but also beforehand in the (by Mozart established) Overture to Händel's Opera «Acis und Galatea», in which an equally intimate and sad love story is told.
