About
Austria: a country of song and symphony, folk dance and swirling waltz. The Salzburg-based Javus Quartett have grown up surrounded by this rich culture and in their concert – which the players introduce – they’ll explore the influence of folk music, dance and rhythm on composers such as Haydn and Schubert. And they’ll premiere a new work in their Rising Stars tour by Oscar Jockel who, when not conducting the Berlin Philharmonic or Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, is busy with a side hustle as an award-winning composer. The Javus Quartett have been together for over 10 years and since their youthful beginnings, now have armfuls of awards to their name and are well-established on international stages. In their native Austria, they frequently perform at Vienna’s Musikverein and Konzerthaus, as well as at the Mozarteum Salzburg. An hour-long concert, with coffee/tea and a slice of cake available beforehand, included in your ticket. Rising Stars are nominated by the artistic directors of Europe’s most prestigious venues which are members of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO).
