About
Graf Almaviva is handsome, aristocratic, and a skilled singer, but he is not the brightest star in the Christmas wreath. His lack of imagination and improvisational talent hinder his goal of freeing the beautiful Rosina from the clutches of her controlling guardian, Dr. Bartolo, and marrying her himself. Fortunately, he has his assistant, Figaro, at his side, who is always full of clever ideas. Not everything Figaro comes up with works out, but a happy ending is assured. Nikolaus Habjan uses puppets to portray the main characters of the opera, thereby referencing the Italian comedic tradition that Rossini's "Barber of Seville" draws its roots from.
