Tosca

The singer, Floria Tosca, is a true diva: beautiful, passionate, and very jealous, especially if she suspects her lover, Cavaradossi, of infidelity. The sadistic police chief, Scarpia, has also taken an interest in this fascinating woman and has attempted to blackmail her by exploiting Cavaradossi's political activities. Puccini's opera is a tragic tale and a political thriller, a celebration of Italian singing and freedom of thought. Jens-Daniel Herzog's 2011 production is returning to the opera house in an updated version.
