About
The term 'Kintsugi', translated from Japanese, means 'golden join' or 'golden scars'. It refers to a centuries-old Japanese repair technique in which broken ceramic or porcelain vessels are restored in a special way. The individual shards are joined together with traditional urushi lacquer, while the breakage is deliberately highlighted with fine gold dust. At the heart of this method is a philosophy that does not conceal damage, but rather makes it visible.
