Alexandre Kantorow Performs Brahms

Alexandre Kantorow, referred to as a 'fire-breathing virtuoso' by Gramophone, performs Brahms’s Romantic concerto, renowned for its central Adagio, which Brahms described as 'a gentle portrait' of Clara Schumann. Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is brilliantly captured in Mendelssohn’s music, from the braying donkey in the Overture, fairies in the Scherzo, to joyous newlyweds in the famous wedding march. Iván Fischer conducts.
