Beethoven and Barber

Nature is at the heart of this program as Samuel Barber elevates a poem by James Agee to evoke nostalgic childhood memories of long summer evenings. Then, we’ll wander through the countryside with Beethoven as he captures the feeling of listening to a nearby brook, gathering with friends and experiencing a thunderstorm in his Pastoral Symphony.
