Fire and Water

In the 'Fire and Water' program, the heat originates from a ballet inspired by Dante by Thomas Adès, and Augustin Hadelich's ability to make Prokofiev's music resonate deeply within one's consciousness. The water flows from Debussy's childhood fascination with the sea and an orchestral interlude from Benjamin Britten's opera Peter Grimes, which enhances our comprehension of the story and its characters.
