Our People

Recital: Tenor Freddie Ballentine, Grammy Award winner, and pianist Kunal Lahiry share a common desire to let the lived experiences of Black and queer people resonate through song. In collaboration with voguing artists from the Belgian ballroom community, they take the audience on an audacious musical journey, from isolation, damnation, memory, and revolution to hope, the final destination. The program is as vibrant as it is diverse, featuring melodies by Nina Simone, Franz Schubert, Ricky Ian Gordon, and Margaret Bonds.
