Hungarian Dances

Zoltán Kodály's »Dances of Galánta« sparkle with rhythmic vitality, Hungarian joie de vivre and folkloric finesse. In contrast, Prokofiev's Seventh Symphony – one of the Russian composer's late works – unfolds with dramatic depth and poetic intensity. It is one of the favourite works of the young Slovak conductor Juraj Valčuha, music director of the Houston Symphony Orchestra. With him, this »WDR Happy Hour« promises to be an incomparable musical experience.
