Meet the Artists: Hellen Kwon

For 40 years, Hellen Kwon has captivated audiences in Hamburg as a coloratura soprano at the State Opera. Intendant Rolf Liebermann (to whom we will dedicate the production Studio Liebermann starting in April 2027, naturally also featuring Hellen Kwon) brought her in 1985 as the Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte to his house. He had discovered the young winner of the Novara International Singing Competition almost immediately after her graduation from the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne for the Geneva premiere of his opera La Forêt. In her final season, the Hamburg chamber singer with Korean roots will revisit the numerous stations of her successful journey in one evening – together with you and famous colleagues.
