About
Orient & Occident, composed in 2000, premiered by the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra under Saulius Sondeckis. The work blends Eastern and Western musical styles, referencing the Nicene Creed. Violin & Violoncello, a 2010 concerto by Philip Glass, premiered by the Residentie Orkest with Cecilia Bernardini and Maarte-Maria den Herder. Gidon Kremer and Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla revived Mieczysław Weinberg's music, including his First Symphony, dedicated to the Red Army.
