About
In this event, the Gewandhausorchester, under Kurt Masur, performs 'Zerronnenes Licht,' a piece inspired by Masur's memory and incorporating elements from the composer's earlier work. The atmosphere is magical, with the brass holding their breath and the percussion tense as the orchestra brings to life a tale of a reckless apprentice. The piece also references Goethe's ballade and Dukas' 'Zauberlehrling,' celebrating its 100th anniversary.
