About
The virtuoso, humorous »Sinfonische Kaleidoskop« of the Catalan Montsalvatge sets the perfect tone for this morning, for even in Poulenc's Gloria, grandeur and humor go hand in hand. The playful and exuberant character was disliked at the premiere, as Poulenc had set a liturgical text. In contrast, Verdi's Quattro pezzi sacri breathe the spirit of devotion and faith. Dive into touching melodies of a musical prayer.
