About
Nikolai Kapustin, a composer influenced by jazz, blends improvisational freedom with classical forms. His music, marked by technical precision and rhythmic energy, showcases virtuosic soloists. His Fourth Piano Concerto exemplifies this style. Kapustin's work contrasts with Shostakovitch's cautious engagement with jazz, reflecting political realities. Kapustin's compositions reveal a unique synthesis of tradition and spontaneity, capturing the essence of improvisation.
