Pergolesi's Stabat Mater with Maarten Engeltjes, Julia Lezhneva and PRJCT Amsterdam

Pergolesi's Stabat Mater : music that does not sound distant, but touches the heart directly, written at the end of his short life. This is not marble church music, but pure emotion. Maarten Engeltjes and his baroque orchestra PRJCT Amsterdam bring this masterpiece back to life in the Main Hall. 'It is clear that these artists have something personal to say about the Stabat Mater ', according to Gramophone .
