About
Next year, 2027, marks the 200th anniversary of the death of Ludwig van Beethoven. In that year, pianist Misha Fomin will complete his prestigious Beethoven project: recording and performing the complete cycle of the composer’s thirty-two piano sonatas. The program of this concert features two sonatas by Beethoven: the surprising Grande Sonate , Op. 7 and the lyrical two-movement Sonata 'Für Thérèse' , Op. 78. After the intermission, Fomin will perform two masterpieces from the Romantic era: Franz Schubert’s beautiful Impromptu and Johannes Brahms’s fiendishly difficult Paganini Variations .
