Powder Her Face

Ópera de Tenerife presents Thomas Adès’ chamber opera Powder Her Face at the Teatro Leal. This contemporary opera focuses on the controversial love life and divorce of Margaret, the Duchess of Argyll, in the 1960s. Employing an explicit, satirical tone, it tells the story of her fall from societal favour, from opulence to ruin and solitude, marked by her romantic entanglements and widespread gossip.
