Tokyo Opera City
Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall opened in 1997 in the Nishi-Shinjuku district. Its striking 27-metre-high ceiling and shoebox design seat 1,632 and are renowned for exceptional acoustics. The hall presents a broad programme of orchestral concerts, chamber music, and contemporary works, alongside the adjacent Recital Hall.
Mori no Hall 21
Opened in 1993, Mori no Hall 21 (森のホール21) is the main concert and event venue of Matsudo City Cultural Hall in Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo. The facility includes a large hall seating approximately 1,500 and a small hall, hosting classical concerts, opera, and a wide range of performing arts events throughout the year.
Harmony Hall Fukui
Harmony Hall Fukui (ハーモニーホールふくい) is Fukui Prefecture's principal concert venue, opened in 1993 in Fukui City. The complex includes a large Main Hall seating approximately 1,800, a Recital Hall, and rehearsal facilities, and hosts orchestral concerts, chamber music, opera, and outreach programmes including its popular Meister Series.
Aichi Prefectural Art Theater
Opened in 1992, the Aichi Prefectural Art Theater (愛知県芸術劇場) is the centrepiece of the Aichi Arts Center in Nagoya's Higashisakura district. The complex houses a 2,480-seat Concert Hall, a Large Hall for opera and ballet, and a Small Hall for chamber music and recitals, making it the primary venue for classical music in the Chubu region.
Suntory Hall
Opened in 1986 and celebrated as one of the world's finest concert halls, Suntory Hall in Tokyo's Akasaka district seats 2,006 in its Main Hall with vineyard-style seating around the stage. The Blue Rose chamber hall (432 seats) hosts recitals and smaller ensembles. The organ, a Rieger instrument with 74 stops, is a defining feature of both the space and its programming.
ACROS Fukuoka
ACROS Fukuoka is a cultural centre opened in 1995 in central Fukuoka, notable for its stepped rooftop garden. The Fukuoka Symphony Hall (2,005 seats) hosts the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra and international touring ensembles alongside the smaller Arena Hall and Foyer Gallery.
