Retrospective

This concert draws upon the themes explored in recent solo recitals by the pianist Thomas Yu-Tung Pan: "Chant d'amour" (2023), "Ballades: Réminiscences des héroïnes" (2024), and "Hommage à ces maîtres" (2025). This selection includes Bortkiewicz's "Elegie" and "Ballade", Robert Schumann's "First Piano Sonata", Chopin's "Barcarolle", one of Shostakovich's "Prelude and Fugue", and Medtner's "Sonata-Ballade". Each piece echoes the topics of the past few years. Through this, the pianist also reflect on his musical journey as approaching middle age.
