About
The Faculty Concert of the Graduate Institute of Collaborative Piano at TNNUA presents a vibrant program celebrating the art of piano collaboration through works for two pianos, four hands, eight hands and voice duet. Spanning Europe and the Americas, the concert explores diverse musical styles and emotional landscapes, from the folk-inspired lyricism of Carlos Guastavino and the wit of Mozart and Offenbach's operatic duets to the driving rhythmic intensity of Frederic Rzewski's Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues. Brahms and Bernstein offer contrasting reflections on love, intimacy, and human expression, while Bedřich Smetana's Sonata in E Minor for Two Pianos, Eight Hands concludes the evening with brilliance, power, and richly layered sonorities.
