Classics: Celebrating Route 66

Ron Spigelman, a favorite of the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra audience, returns to conduct an evocative program inspired by America’s heartland. Florence Price’s Mississippi River Suite features rich harmonies and folk themes reflecting the river’s grandeur and diversity. Robert Stolz’s Suite for Route 66 captures the playful spirit and nostalgia of the legendary highway. Bassoonist Richard Ramey performs in Jerod Impichcha̱achaaha' Tate’s Ghost of the White Deer, a concerto blending haunting melodies with vibrant orchestral textures rooted in Native American tradition. The concert closes with Ferde Grofé’s Grand Canyon Suite.
