About
With Wagner's 'Tannhäuser', Nathalie Stutzmann made her breakthrough as a conductor in Bayreuth after a great singing career, opening her debut concert with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich two years ago with the 'Tannhäuser' Overture. And even at her second appearance in Zurich, the first half of the concert is dedicated to two excerpts from Wagner operas; Christina Nilsson sings Isolde's famous Liebestod during this time. In the second half of the concert, Nathalie Stutzmann conducts Brahms' Symphony No. 1: This composer she initially appreciated as a singer – and in recent years has discovered anew as a conductor.
