The 26-year-old Chinese pianist Junyan Chen has not only amassed an impressive collection of competition successes, but has also developed a notable profile: She plays a lot of contemporary music, engages extensively in chamber music and leads her own festival in England. In the Série jeunes she now presents herself with a varied program: Rachmaninov is among her favorite composers, she carries a classic by Brahms – and with the 'Children’s Songs' of jazz pianist Chick Corea, she strikes again different tones.
