About
What can the human voice express? Singing, shouting, whispering, praying, protesting, or perhaps telling a story about an experience that no words can adequately describe? "VOX HUMANA. SINGSPIEL" poses these questions, taking viewers on an unpredictable journey through musical styles, historical periods, and extreme emotions. Here, emotion intertwines with unease, laughter with tears, and the beauty of the human voice with sounds that can evoke chills. This is not an opera that can be easily defined. The creators of the performance, the Opera Aperta collective, propose a form known as "rhizomatic theater" – an open, multi-threaded structure that constantly changes direction and defies traditional genre boundaries. The performance seamlessly transitions from experimental vocal techniques, metallic sounds, Ukrainian folk songs, techno rituals, pop performances, to a lecture on art theory and post-documentary theater. Instead of a linear narrative, we receive a multi-dimensional experience in which sound, history, politics, and personal emotions create an unconventional whole. This unconventional experience transforms the voice into a tool for artistic expression, memory, and the attempt to understand war. "VOX HUMANA. SINGSPIEL" is an offering for those who seek more than a ready-made story in theater: an experience that engages the senses, confronts difficult questions, and stays with the viewer long after the performance ends. You don't need to be an opera lover to be captivated by this story. All that's needed is curiosity and a willingness to listen to a sound that can simultaneously delight, unsettle, and move you.
