Apollo-Salon III

Aria & Response: Baroque music meets Poetry Slam. Five arias, five responses: As part of the Baroque Days, the voices of the International Opera Studio combine with original texts written by local poets. Professional poetry slam participants reflect on and question the major themes of the Baroque opera: love and friendship, power and death – sharply, surprisingly, and in the best sense of the word, entertaining. Finally, the audience is asked: Which duo of opera and slam poetry will win? Music by Barbara Strozzi, Henry Purcell, Georg Friedrich Händel & Claudio Monteverdi. Cast: Soprano: Defne Celik, Etīna Emīlija Saulīte; Bass-baritone: Hanseong Yun, Temur Bidzishvili, Martin Iivarinen; Cello: Ángela Lobato del Castillo; Poetry Slam: Fee Brembeck, Jesko Habert, Aidin Halimi, Nick Pötter, Lisa-Maria Olszakiewiecz.
