Dvořák Cello Concerto with Sol Gabetta

A star soloist, a cherished concerto and Brahms at his most warmly expansive make this an irresistible evening with the Philharmonia Orchestra. Cellist Sol Gabetta, one the Philharmonia’s Featured Artists, joins the orchestra for Dvořák’s Cello Concerto, a work that combines Bohemian warmth with thrilling virtuosity in one of the great showpieces of the repertory. Her performance of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto No.1 with the Philharmonia in 2019 was praised by Bachtrack as ‘a compelling account shot through with playfulness and poetic rhapsodising … technically formidable’, and this return promises the same distinctive personality and flair.
