About
The London Philharmonic Orchestra paints ravishing pictures of Spain and Mexico, including Joaquín Rodrigo’s gorgeous concerto with guitarist Rafael Aguirre. Aguirre has been called ‘a complete performer’ – an artist acclaimed for his virtuosity, tenderness and flair. Tonight he shares the bill with conductor Jaime Martín and the fabulous Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, with choreographer Patricia Guerrero, in a concert that sets Rodrigo’s and Falla’s ravishing evocations of Spain alongside the myths and magic of Mexico: the legend of a mysterious blue deer, retold in full orchestral colour by Gabriela Ortiz.
