The ever-inventive harpsichordist teams up with percussionist Tancrède Kummer in an improvisatory work based on Bach’s celebrated Goldberg Variations . Together, the duo have created a work that takes Bach’s intricate and many-coloured variations as a blueprint, with a completely fresh approach. Since he first began working on the Goldberg Variations in 2016, Rondeau has never ceased to explore Bach’s score, seeking to understand both its mysteries and its spontaneity.
