About
Poise, playfulness and sheer musical personality run through this sparkling afternoon with the Philharmonia Orchestra and cellist Steven Isserlis. John Tavener’s transcendent The Protecting Veil was instantly hailed as a modern classic at its premiere nearly 40 years ago. In today’s concert, Isserlis – the very cellist who performed its premiere – joins the Philharmonia for this performance.
