Different Grounds

Which language connects all countries of the world? Dance exists everywhere, yet it is not spoken with the same accent everywhere. The ballet evening Different Grounds presents three world premieres of innovative dance styles from three continents on the stage of the Semperoper. Stephanie Lake, who is Artist in Residence of the Semperoper Ballett starting the 2025/26 season, creates her first work specifically for the ensemble. Lake, one of Australia's most renowned contemporary choreographers, comes from the free Australian dance scene, leads her own company, and is also Resident Choreographer of the country's largest dance ensemble, the Australian Ballet.
