The Wild Huntsman

A roast venison is supposed to crown the engagement of the elderly village schoolteacher Baculus and his young, peasant-wise apprentice Gretchen. But the necessary poaching trip into the Count's park nearly costs Baculus his position and bride. Gretchen's offer to personally approach the Count seems ill-advised given his notorious sexual appetite. Salvation comes in the form of a student willing to go to the Count as the supposed bride. Behind this guise lies none other than the Count's widowed sister – which marks only the beginning of utterly chaotic confusion.
