About
Wherever they appear, everyone calls them "trumpet," and for the larger one – "trumpet!" Meanwhile, brass instruments have many names, and each has its own unique character. The family of brass instruments is very large. Some of you will get to know them at our concert. Do you think the trumpet used to live in the forest? Can the tuba laugh? And what does all of this have to do with our great poet Adam Mickiewicz? We invite you to the next season of the (Un)Musical Lectures – "Orchestropedia"! This time, we will take a closer look at individual instrument families and musical sections. We will learn about their unique sounds, construction, history, and function in the orchestra, and beyond. We will discover the differences between aerophones and chordophones, why the violin and cello belong to the same family, and how musical instruments create a wide range of colors and sounds together. This is a solid dose of knowledge, musical trivia, and inspiration – a real treat for all music lovers. The lessons are aimed at elementary and secondary school students. Monika Zytke is a respected conductor and professor at the Institute of Music at the Pomeranian Academy, who combines classical education with a passion for improvisation and an open approach to music. A graduate of the Gdańsk Academy of Music, she is an expert in gospel, Jewish, and Georgian music, and implements programs with a wide range of styles – from classical to contemporary ethnic music. Her concerts are characterized by spontaneity and emotional engagement with the audience.
