About
The guitar has achieved worldwide fame – it's likely known to everyone. What a lucky instrument! However, there are many other stringed instruments, each with its own unique sound. Let's take the harp, for example. It has 40 strings, but unlike the guitar, it doesn't have a fretboard or frets. So, how is it played? You'll see the remarkable mechanism of this instrument up close. And its smaller cousin, the vee-harp, will surprise you with its playing capabilities! We invite you to the next season of the (Un)Musical Lectures – Orkiestropedia! This time, we'll take a closer look at individual instrument families and musical sections. We'll learn about their unique sounds, construction, history, and function in the orchestra and beyond. We'll discover the differences between aerophones and chordophones, why violins and cellos belong to the same family, and how musical instruments create a wide range of colors and sounds together. This is a solid dose of knowledge, musical trivia, and inspiration – a true treat for all music lovers. The classes are aimed at elementary and secondary school students.
