About
Daniel Ziomko is a pianist, a graduate of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, under the tutelage of Professor Waldemar Wojtal. In 2023, he defended his doctoral thesis on unpublished piano sonatas by Polish composers – teachers at the Gdańsk Academy of Music. He has performed at venues such as the Szczecin Philharmonic, the Polish Baltic Philharmonic, and NOSPR. He also gave a recital at the Royal Baths, near the Fryderyk Chopin monument, and at the composer's birthplace in Żelazowa Wola. He participated in the II Chopin Marathon organized by Polish Radio on Independence Day. He was awarded the Cultural Artist/Creator Award by the President of Starogard for his contributions. He has repeatedly received the Rector's Scholarship for the best students of the Gdańsk Academy of Music. He has participated in lessons taught by such teachers as Jarosław Drzewiecki, Bernd Goetzke, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Andrzej Jasiński, Ivan Klánský, Viera Nosina, Piotr Paleczny, Alexander Peskanov, and Graham Scott. He has actively participated in masterclasses held as part of the 71st and 74th International Chopin Festival in Duszniki-Zdrój. He has also recently been engaged in composing. In February 2024, he premiered his own piano concerto with the Camerata Stargard orchestra. He is the composer of the music for two theatrical productions by Sławomir Wojciech Makowski: "Konopnicka – a woman who refuses" and "Wędrujemy ciepłym krajem – K. K. Baczyński differently". The "All of Poland Plays Chopin" project was initiated by the PZU Foundation, with the belief that access to high culture should not depend on one's place of residence. Therefore, the music of Fryderyk Chopin will once again resonate not only in the largest cultural centers, but also in smaller towns and villages where residents have less opportunity to attend professional concerts of classical music. Following the success of the first edition, which featured nearly 50 concerts in 8 voivodeships, the project has been significantly expanded. In 2026, there will be 78 concerts in 13 voivodeships, organized in collaboration with regional cultural institutions. Each region has prepared its own series of events, ensuring that the music of Chopin reaches local communities throughout Poland.
