About
Thierry Fischer conducts two works inspired by Scotland: the overture _The Hebrides_ and Mendelssohn's _Symphony No. 3_. Among them, the prelude of the unfinished opera _O Garatuja_ (1904), in which Nepomuceno combines refined symphonic writing with Brazilian rhythms, and virtuoso soloist Rafael Aguirre in the sunny _Concerto for Viola_ by Daniel Freiberg, which mixes classical music, jazz, and Latin-American traditions.
