About
Thierry Fischer conducts two works inspired by Scotland: the overture _The Hebrides_ and Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 3. Among them, the prelude of the unfinished opera _O Garatuja_ (1904), in which Nepomuceno combines refined symphonic writing with Brazilian rhythms, and virtuoso soloist Rafael Aguirre in the sunny Concerto for viola by Daniel Freiberg, which mixes classical music, jazz, and Latin-American traditions.
