Bizet & Bolero

Bizet's Symphony in C major is characterized by sparkle, high spirits, and lovely melodies. Macedonian pianist Simon Trpčeski joins the performance with two energetic works: Ginastera's Concierto Argentino and Albéniz's Rapsodia española, which includes flamencos, jotas, and malagueñas. Ravel's Boléro features the orchestra with its hypnotic repetition of a single tune, with progressively more elaborate—and louder—instrumentation.
