Bizet & Bolero

Bizet's Symphony in C major is characterized by sparkle, high spirits, and lovely melodies from his youth. Macedonian pianist Simon Trpčeski joins the performance with two energetic works: Ginastera's Concierto Argentino and Albéniz's Rapsodia española, which includes flamencos, jotas, and malagueñas filled with sizzling rhythms and lyrical passion. Ravel's Boléro, a celebrated piece, showcases the orchestra through its hypnotic repetition of a single tune with progressively more elaborate—and louder—instrumentation.
